Lana gets its own private PokerStars Club aka LanaCoin Stars

As LanaCoin community evolves so do use cases for LANA cryptocurrency. On january 5th 2020 an innitiative was made by a LanaCoin telegram group member to establish a private PokerStars club.

The idea quickly turned into a reality and a private/homegames PokerStars club named “LanaCoin Stars” was born.

How to join LanaCoin Stars club?

  • Once the above form is completed head over to the PokerStars application in click on the Home Games icon located on the right side of the main lobby screen and click “Join a Poker Club”
  • Enter ClubID: 3197566 , invitation code: lanacoin2020 and your name/pokerstars username/id and click “Join Club”. Your request to join the club will be approved if your PokerStars username matches the information provided on the Google form. In case you missed that part here is the link again.
  • If you want to get an email from PokerStars when a new tournament is published make sure you leave the checkbox in the screenshots bellow unchecked to recieve tournament notifications.

The Genesis tournament has been created and its starts on january 21nd at 21:00 CET.

The first tournament has a prize pool of 50000 $LANA contributed by the founder. On top of the initiall 50k LANA community has already contributed additional 20k LANA to the tournament escrow address.

For every tournament a new public $LANA ecrow address will be generated and posted in the LanaCoin Stars Club announcment board and club wall.

In the future we shall consider tournaments where the entry fee is paid in $LANA. To ease the process the enry fee will be matched 1:1 with PokerStarsPlayChips.

Each tournament will get a dedicated ecrowed public deposit address. Interested players will need to deposit the entry fee, send the transaction id/hash to a dedicated email address (using the email address submitted on the club registration form).

If the player will register to the tournament before the entry fee is paid , he or she will be temporary suspended from the LanaStarsClub.

What is Bitcoin halving and does LanaCoin have one?

The year 2020 will bring upon the Bitcoin network its 3rd blockreward halving since the genesis block. Bitcoin miners initially received 50 BTC as a reward for securing the network. The block reward was cut in half to 25 BTC in late november 2012 and the second halving reduced the block reward to 12.5 BTC 4 years later in july 2016. The may/june 2020 Bitcoin halving will split the block reward again, this time to 6.25 BTC.

Does LANA blockchain have halvings?

Yes it does. LANA is different from Bitcoin, since new blocks are not only created by proof of work/PoW miners running sha256 asic machines, but also by community node operators that own $LANAs and have them stored on LanaCoin full node wallet that are always powered on, connected to the internet via lanacoin p2p network. The process is called staking and can be done with only 1 LANA stored on a connected wallet but that amount would have a very small network weight and the chances of becoming a proof of stake/PoS block finder are very low.

Proof of work miners get rewarded with 10000 newly created LANA , while proof of stake miners (stakers) get rewarded with 1000 newly created LANAs plus a 7% yearly on the amount that was at stake at the time the PoS block was mined/staked/created.

Lanas first block reward halving will occur at blockheight 525600. At time for writing Lana is on blockheight 382183. Therefore 143417 blocks remain untill the first and last LanaCoin halving.

Awerage daily number of proof of work and proof of stake blocks on LanaCoin blockchain is about 420 blocks.

With a an average of 420 transaction blocks being created daily, this puts the estimated PoS halving event aprox 341 days from today (14th january 2020). The halving will split the PoS reward in half reducing the 1000 LANA per proof of stake block to 500. The 7% annual will not change.

Proof of work has no halvings programmed into LanaCoin chain parameters. LanaCoin will simply stop generating PoW blocks after block height 750000. Roughly 875 days from today.

100 Lana private keys, but only a few of them will unlock coins

On the fourth day of the new decade 100 private keys will be posted on LanaCoin social media channels.

Only a small % of the keys will unlock random ammounts of LanaCoins. To claim coins you have two options.

Option 1:

Download LanaCoin desktop wallet, synchronize it and use the built in console to import the private key.

List of wallet commands can be found on LanaCoin Github or by typing “help” in the Debug/Console window.

Note that simply importing a private key that unlocks coins, does not mean you are in the clear as any person that has access to the same private key can do the same. You should transfer those coins to a new public address only you own the private key for as soon as possible or someone else will.

Example import of a private key “6uh2H6zZjK8o7eqfFdFbvUDT1zzJ4YTaUGnUb8z7p9NHmu4KfGP” that unlocks 1.11 Lana stored in the corresponding public key/address “LY9dcUmcYwovvtcia6uBq5USghYckhN9DF”

To move transfer those 1.11 $LANA to a new wallet/key, go to receive tab, create a new address first and copy it.

Cant find “Coin control features”? A hint you need to enable the function in wallet settings!

Cryptocurrencies are essentially an internet of secure cryptographic vaults. He/she who holds the key to the vault, can move the vaults content to a new vault. If you loose the key to the vault the content of the vault will remains in the vault forever.

Option 2:

Download mobile wallet CryptoWallet.si for android and set it up.

Select Lana and go to options and settings. (see image bellow)

Select “Sweep wallet”. You can type it in, copy paste it or convert the key into a QR code for scanning.

Sweeping the private key will create a new transaction and transfer the coins to an address generated on device. Private key can then be disscarded as the coins have moved from the assiated public key/address.

Now that you have mastered importing and sweeping private keys stay tuned on LANA social media channel for more private key posts. If you have been fast enough to claim/import/transfer/sweep a key before anyone else congratulations.
